Beautiful! In February I got on a plane for the first time in almost a decade. Now I can't wait to get on another and explore new places. I love biking and may check out the bike touring company!

Enjoy every moment! I love Paris, have visited several times, my younger daughter lives there, older daughter lived in Montmartre for two years & so enchanted am I by the city of love that Iā€™ve set a good chunk of my novel thereā€¦just because thatā€™s where I want to roam in my imagination šŸ˜€

This was a beautiful read.

There's something just so refreshing about Paris.

I've been to Paris twice already. I'm looking forward to my third visit next year, this time as a married man and with my wife, who'll be visiting foe the first time.

Parfait! I did the same thing in Prague last week: lots and lots of neighborhood walking, rented e-bikes to get out of the center, spent a sunny afternoon or two parked in a beer garden with a book, meandered along the river. Bliss.

Thank you for the reminder to Flaneur! After a weekā€™s tour of Portugal with my children last month, I decided to transit via Paris for the first time! I stayed in the lovely Le Marais district and dedicated four days to simply flaneuring the city. This wandering opened up so many spontaneous, joyful moments I feel I otherwise would have missed. Here is a link to an inspiring article about the ā€œart of flaneurā€ from the Paris Review:

What fun! There's nothing like wandering a city with no tour guide; just soaking up the atmosphere.

My mode of travel for a decade now. Currently exploring Villeneuve-dā€™Ascq. Le Petit Fer Ć  Cheval is also one of my favorite Paris restaurants! I love that they donā€™t do reservations. All great ways to pause.

Had to look up Villeneuve-dā€™Ascq ā€” sounds wonderful. What takes you there?

Well, just seeing this! I stayed there for a few weeks exploring the area. I love Lille, but I like staying in smaller outside neighborhoods. It was a great find and I became friends with my Airbnb host. Love when that happens. If you ever get to the area, be sure to visit the Piscine museum in Roubaix. Next door is a lovely artisan complex. Roubaix is going through a rough time as many places are, but the architecture is lovely. If you love architecture, the Villa Cavrois is also wonderful. I spent this September in Nantes; have you ever been? What a fabulous surprise - a mini Paris and I mean that in all the right ways!

Love love love those snippets of my old stomping grounds, and feeling that you are *trying* to pause and slow down. Similar vibes over here, though not in Paris but in Oregon where the weather is turning too and the days are getting longer as well <3
